Him & Her Chairs by Casamania

Fabio Novembre has designed these chairs for Casamania in 2008. They were redesigned a bit this year. Their shapes were created using a 3 dimensional scan of 2 plaster sculptures. Available in two different finishes: matt polyethylene, mass-dyed rotation molded and in glossy varnished polyethylene.

Boobs by Flos

Flos took its inspiration from the most interesting parts of women bodies. The Boobs lamp is designed with the slogan: “We can shape your widest dreams, any request is possible”.

SAA collection is one of the latest collections for spring/summer 2010 season by French company, Bleu Nature. It represents the cutting edge of eco and nature inspired design. The collection is designed by Frank Lefebvre and Bastien Taillard, and inspired by “blue ice”. It consists of a table and two different types of matching chairs that as usual has quite unique designs. The table is made of white lacquered steel, glacier blue bull calf and extra white tempered glass. Chairs, besides white lacquered steel base have driftwood armrests which look like they weren’t polish a lot. The good thing that the table and chairs don’t feature popular materials like leather. That makes them a very interesting for those who doesn’t want a standard decor at their homes. { Bleu Nature }

Have you ever dreamed of having a treehouse in your backyard? Jeanie Stiles and her husband David did, so they designed one for their children, beginning with this sketch. They say it was inspired by The Hobbit, but it reminded me of Winnie-the-Pooh and the Hundred Acre Wood. Can’t you picture Owl peeking out from one of those windows?

I wrote about this treehouse back when I first started blogging and liked it so much that I wanted to share it again now that I actually have some readers who will see it! It was featured in Architectural Digest (with photos by Billy Cunningham), which explains:

Protected from weather and adults, the kid-size interior forms a cozy hide-away, inspired by J. R. R. Tolkiens The Hobbit, a favorite of the childrens.

My kids would love this. So would I! I’d be sneaking up into that treehouse every summer afternoon with a book in one hand and a glass of lemonade in the other.

“Where did Mom go?”

“Did you check the treehouse?”
